I've got to say that the entertainment industry (Read: Hollywood) and the history of ATV does not do us ATV enthusiasts any good whatsoever! In fact, it gives us, ATV riders a bad, bad, BAD name. Step aside, Michael Jackson....you don't need black leather Crimson tide apparel to look 'Bad'. Instead, you need an ATV.
The reason why I am writing this article about how terrible people actually view ATV riders is this...people look at ATV 'people' differently depending on how they're dressed. For instance, there was one time me and a friend decided to have a very impromptu ATV ride around the back of the house dressed in our old comfy jeans and long sleeves (is not a little brown, it's actually quite presentable) jersey. Oh, the looks we got from people who walked pass us! I can't imagine myself saying this but it makes me feel REALLY bad for riding my ATV around my own place. It's as if people who ride ATVs in casual clothing is less respectable than people who ride ATVs in proper clothing. I am not condoning everyone to do this - in fact, whenever riding ATV, everyone should take the time to change into the right ATV apparel. I mean, the role of ATV apparel goes beyond just making the ATV rider look good. The apparel actually helps protect the rider from unnecessary injury if anything untoward was to happen. But at that time, me and my friend were just hanging around the backyard doing nothing and on the spur of the moment, we just decided to...you know, ride our ATVs Crimson tide apparel . Oh alright, perhaps we might have been a tad lazy to get ourselves changed into proper ATV apparel...but to ride in our backyards? Fine. This is especially true for kids. My kids were not around when my friend and I decided to engage in our illegal joyride, so, I have the privilege of using this as an excuse. But if your kids are around or are engaged in the same activity, we should always take special care to observe the rules to ATV riding...yes, including the unwritten one on wearing proper ATV apparel whenever riding. The reason for this is because kids pick these things up really fast. Let me them see you flout the rule once and you're in for some arguments every time you're trying to get them to don their ATV apparel. Well, unless you're willing to invest in some branded and expensive ATV apparel, that's a whole different story. And Crimson tide apparel the funny thing is that after that incident, me and the same friend went for ATV riding with our families in tow...and this time, we were dressed accordingly. You wouldn't believe it but...everyone who walked past us smiled at us!
